Welcome to our site!

General Meetings:

The second Tuesday of each month, held at First Congregational Church, 200 E. Harris St., Cadillac (across from the Post Office).

New Community Opportunity: NMAG's "The Gathering"

The Northern Michigan Art Guild invites interested artists to a weekly gathering of Cadillac-area artists.

When: Tuesday afternoons from 1 to 4 PM.

Where: First Congregational Church, 200 E. Harris St., Cadillac (across from the Post Office).

What: Weekly time to get-together with other area artists to work on any of your own projects that you would like. Come and bring your materials and whatever you are currently (or would like to start) working on. Any art project, or media, is welcome, as is all experience levels--we can learn from each other!

The idea is that being with other artists, and having a routine time to work, would motivate each other. As we continue, we will see how much interest there is, and what direction we may want to take for the future. We could do some motivational classes or group projects, and/or we could critique each others work if desired. Plein-air painting trips or gallery visits are also an option--whatever the group would like to do.

Come every week, or come when you can! Bring a friend if you like.

No charge, however, a $1 per person per week donation for use of the church space is appreciated.

If you have questions about the CACA summer art fair requirements for participation in the group booth please contact Carol at 1-231-388-2682 or  rbfarms@netonecom.net.

Is N.M.A.G right for you?

Whether young in artistic experience, or young at heart, the Northern Michigan Art Guild was put into motion by people with the same artistic desires that you have.

1. Our membership has a desire to share information and their talents with one another and their respective community.

2. We strive to include one another in artistic experiences. We want to provide the opportunities for those that wish to participate.

3. Current information on shows, technology, techniques, contests, & presentations are shared monthly with our group. If not shared through attendance through our general meetings, then through the e-mail.

4. Challenging one another allows us to learn each other’s strengths and weaknesses to make ourselves better… to make NMAG better.

5. Simply, we love art.

What is NMAG?

We are a non-profit 501c3 organization, so the monies for the group go to promote art in the Northern Michigan Area. We have created a set of functioning, living, bylaws, and a well constructed thought out constitution. We are a support net for those around us. Our group is full of vibrant artists. We are also part of the Cadillac Area Council for the Arts, and the Downtown Cadillac Association.

This fine art group offers opportunity to become involved in local events in musical, theatrical, gardening, dancing and festival communities which exist in our area. This group was created as a positive outlet for artists who felt that they needed to be supported by their peers, and be part of a group responsible to its membership. It is our belief that we have accomplished this goal. Our members have been involved in numerous artistic organizations, and we know what we have found and helped to craft in the Northern Michigan Art Guild. Using our past experiences, we have found what we were searching for.

Come join in the Fun!
